On Friday, July 22, I went out to dinner with Amanda (Place) Hawkins and her family at Los Cuatro Amigos in Midland. After dinner, Amanda and I went to the theater where we met up with Jessica Garvin and her room mate, Natalie. We saw "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". It was way better than the old "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".
Afterwards, we went to The Texan for malts (except Natalie who had corned beef hash. :S). We made plans to meet at Jessica's the next night to play games.
After I got to Jessica's about an hour an a half late the next night, we played Settlers of Catan. I'd heard of the game before (what gamer hasn't?) but I'd never played it. Jessica didn't have the expansion pack, so we split up into three teams: Amanda and her husband, Matt; Jessica and I; and Natalie and her friend, Dan.
Everybody was really close to winning (around seven or eight points) but Amanda and Matt won.
The game is so totally awesome! I think I'm going to buy it when I get the chance.
