Winter semester 2003 has begun at Saginaw Valley State University. This semester, things are a bit different. First of all, I'm a Resident Assistant in the Living Center (I hate that name!). In fact, tonight is my first night on duty. I'm still working on campus too. In addition, I'm taking 13 credits worth of courses:
History of Michigan -- informative -- minor
Visual Basic.NET Programming -- fun -- Certification to teach Computer Science
Finite Mathematics-- boring -- Prerequisite for Computer Science minor
Chemistry and Society -- informative -- General Education Requirement
No languages this semester :-(
I think Dan, Mary Jo, Erin, and I are going to see "Drumline" this Friday night. The main reason I'm seeing it is because JC Chasez's on the soundtrack. I got that for Christmas from Mom and Dad, but still haven't seen the movie. That should be fun.
My car's at home. I don't know when I'm gonna get it. It was at the mechanic's when I moved down here. Two nights before, I went to the movies with Amy and Tom. When we came out, my car wouldn't start. Dad came down the next day, tried jumping it. Nothing. The mechanic said it was merely a dead battery. Ha! Yeah, right. I think it's my stereo. My sister's boyfriend put it in. It stays on when I turn the car off. :-|

OK, this blows.
I'm not seeing "The Two Towers" in theaters with Amy again. Last time, it rained ice. This time, my car wouldn't start. Grrr! Oh well, we hitched a ride to Meijer where Tom's car was parked. Tom met us there to see the movie. Then, Tom drove me home. Thanks Tom! :-).
I hate my car. It's at the Garage right now. It should be fixed sometime this week.
I'm moving back to school tomorrow. My parents are taking me and my stuff back. We were supposed to do it today, but my dad and I went to get my car instead. We called a wrecker.
I can't wait to get back to my high-speed internet connection. Dial-up sucks. Plus, my parents are driving me nuts.

I went to the premiere of "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" with Amy at 12:01 am yesterday morning. The movie rocks! The first 2 hours were a build-up to the last hour which was the Battle for Helm's Deep. I almost puked when it showed the semi-flashback of Gandalf falling down the chasm in Moria, fighting the Balrog. The movie ROCKS! and I can't wait until next year to see the conclusion!
When we got out, it was raining... and the rain was frozen. And there was a layer of ice on my car. So, after chipping ice for 10 minutes, I drove back to Saginaw (movie in Midland) and it took me an hour and 15 minutes; it usually takes 25 minutes. I get home and call Amy's house in Beaverton at 4:20 (we made arrangements to call due to inclement weather). She wasn't home, so her parents went out to look for her. She called me about 15 minutes later. She had gone in the ditch about half-way home and some old lady gave her a ride back to Midland (Meijer).
So I said that her parents were out looking for her, stay put and see if they find you. After about 45 minutes, she called again and said that she was still at meijer. So, I drove an hour+ back to Midland to get her and started driving her home. About 20 minutes out of Midland, I whipped a 360 and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road facing the wrong direction.
A guy stopped at about 6:50 and let us use his cellphone. I called my parents.
Amy's dad found us shortly after 8. We went and go breakfast and came back to my car. My dad got there about 9. Amy's dad called AAA and got a towtruck and it got me out about 10 (Thank you Dale! And that you Vincent's Towing!). I got home-home an hour later (I live 30 minutes away from Midland) and went to sleep.
Amy stopped on her way home to get her truck (the same wrecker towed her truck out earlier when her parents found her truck). About 1 mile later, she went in the ditch again, so they left it in a driveway until about 3 when it was warmer and thawed.

Yesterday was the last day I will have seen some of my friends for a couple of weeks.
Dan woke me up at 10:30 cuz there was supposed to be A tour comin' through. I said "I know, Jason's doin' it" but I decided to pick up my room just in case. GOOD THING I DID! there were like 11 groups that came through, Jason was with 1 of them...
My dad came and got my car to take back to our mechanic (some sort of electrical problem).
I went to lunch with Mojo, Matt, and Mike to Applebee's. I had lemonade, boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks and onion peels with southwest sauce. Then, we decided to find Saginaw's ghetto... we found a country club when Mel called Matt's phone. She was swingin' by with her parents after seeing her brother in Mt. Pleasant so we high-tailed it back to the school where we talked to mel for a bit, then went to get groceries w/ my mom.
When I got home, I made a blog for Mel.
Matt and Mike and I fixed Matt's computer. There was sooo much spyware, I wanted to just reformat the hard drive and install Mandrake on it, but for some reason, people who don't know a damned thing about computing insist on using Windows. Don't know why. I cannot figure it out. So, it still has Non-an-operating-system on it (Windows Me). Bleh.
Today,
Mom and dad are coming down to help me move down the hallway. Carrie's dropping of the key to Mark's—now my—room a little later, then my parents will be down.
Carrie is going to start my training tomorrow :) before work.
