I went to the premiere of "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" with Amy at 12:01 am yesterday morning. The movie rocks! The first 2 hours were a build-up to the last hour which was the Battle for Helm's Deep. I almost puked when it showed the semi-flashback of Gandalf falling down the chasm in Moria, fighting the Balrog. The movie ROCKS! and I can't wait until next year to see the conclusion!
When we got out, it was raining... and the rain was frozen. And there was a layer of ice on my car. So, after chipping ice for 10 minutes, I drove back to Saginaw (movie in Midland) and it took me an hour and 15 minutes; it usually takes 25 minutes. I get home and call Amy's house in Beaverton at 4:20 (we made arrangements to call due to inclement weather). She wasn't home, so her parents went out to look for her. She called me about 15 minutes later. She had gone in the ditch about half-way home and some old lady gave her a ride back to Midland (Meijer).
So I said that her parents were out looking for her, stay put and see if they find you. After about 45 minutes, she called again and said that she was still at meijer. So, I drove an hour+ back to Midland to get her and started driving her home. About 20 minutes out of Midland, I whipped a 360 and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road facing the wrong direction.
A guy stopped at about 6:50 and let us use his cellphone. I called my parents.
Amy's dad found us shortly after 8. We went and go breakfast and came back to my car. My dad got there about 9. Amy's dad called AAA and got a towtruck and it got me out about 10 (Thank you Dale! And that you Vincent's Towing!). I got home-home an hour later (I live 30 minutes away from Midland) and went to sleep.
Amy stopped on her way home to get her truck (the same wrecker towed her truck out earlier when her parents found her truck). About 1 mile later, she went in the ditch again, so they left it in a driveway until about 3 when it was warmer and thawed.

Heheh, you guys must like ditches. I've only had a few close calls. I'm telling you, heavy cars only get you stuck further in the snow.
