Mackinac Island

Every so often, my family travels the two and a half hours to Mackinac Island. I got Erica to cover for me late Thursday night and drove home so that we could leave early in the morning. My sister's new boyfriend, Jeremiah Otis went with us. (He's an Army Ranger from California currently stationed in Georgia. He's up for the weekend. He tried out for *NSYNC and made it to the top fifteen. He said he can't dance. He didn't sing for me.)

We took Shepler's noon ferry to the island. The trip took 16 minutes (according to the ferry's recorded greeting). First thing we did was check out all the shops. We wandered around east then climbed up to Arch Rock then came back into town. We wandered around looking for a place to eat. A shop worker suggested the Mustang Café but neither Minda nor I liked the menu. We ended up going to Patrick Sinclair's Irish Pub. I had a great salad of romaine lettuce with dried cherries, walnuts, carrots, bell peppers, and grilled chicken with a raspberry vinaigrette.

After dinner, we had a couple of minutes to browse the shops before we were the last ones to board the five o'clock ferry back to Mackinaw City.

I slept most of the way home and got back to the university at about nine o'clock.

I forgot to have mom buy me a shirt on the island. :(
